SAAC facilitated the Child Protection Officers training conducted to the primary school CPOs in the Nausori; Nadroga/Navosa; Lautoka /Nadi/Yasawa; Bua Macuata and Cakaudrove. A total of 416 teachers attended the training.
SAAC was part of the awareness campaign on the commemoration of the World NO Tobacco Day organized by MOH-Tobacco Enforcement Control Unit on the 31st of May 2022. The program was officially launched by His Excellency the President of Fiji Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere. Advocacy as well as information was dispatched to the interested public. The awareness day was indeed an educational one for all.
The Substance Abuse Advisory Council has partnered with The Juvenile Bureau and The Life Line Fiji to create timely awareness sessions in various schools. The focal points of discussion includes mental health and with students rights comes responsibilities. We thank the 2 agencies for their continuing support & partnership.
The Substance Abuse Advisory Council has carried out student leadership training in various districts for the year 2022. It has empowered student leaders on various issues such as leadership skills, mental health and communication skills.
